Under 11s v Porth & Corinthians

Under 11s v Porth & Corinthians

Another fantastic effort today as the girls kept the momentum going from last Sunday.

With the unusual luxury of having 11 players in the squad, we kicked off our first game against Porth.

The scoring was opened by Captain Brilliant Beth, making her first start of the season after injury, following some good passing by Great Georgia and Fantastic Gwen.

Caerphilly were unlucky not to double their lead when Amazing Holly hit the post with a thunderbolt shot.

Porth nearly equalised twice but were prevented by Safehands Sofija in goals saving the ball on the line, and tackles by Magnificent Megan and Superb Sienna.

With the introduction of Exceptional Emily C, Incredible Lucy and Spectacular Seren at halftime, Excellent Emily W quickly scored 2 goals either side of a Porth consolation goal, dribbling from her own half and beating 2 players to score her first.

Great effort and play by our Under 11s.

Our second and final match of the day, was against a very good and well organised Cardiff Corinthians.

It was a commanding performance, with Captain Fantastic Gwen scoring a hatrick, including a 20 yard lob over the keeper, and Great Georgia scoring the other goal.

Safehands Sofija produced some stunning saves to keep a clean sheet, and was aided by Spectacular Seren and Magnificent Megan in the centre of defence, organising the troops, flanked by Exceptional Emily C and Superb Sienna, who didn’t let the opposition get past them.

In Midfield Caerphilly dominated the game thanks to the passing skills of Excellent Emily W and Incredible Lucy, and were unlucky not to score more with both Brilliant Beth and Amazing Holly, who hit the bar again, coming close.

Coaches Comments: Like always our girls played with a smile on their faces. Some of the football they played was phenomenal, all the girls were calm in possession, and played with their heads up. The passing, dribbling and shooting was exceptional.

Also it was nice that the Cardiff Corinthians Manager said our girls played the game in the correct manner and were honest and fair, which is a great compliment to them.

Bring on next week…….
