Junior team training back outdoors

With a return to spring sunshine, and hopefully much more on the way, our Junior Teams returned to their original training venue at Morgan Jones Park on Wednesday 18th April.

Since moving indoors for training, the size of the junior set up has grown considerably, and move back outside has come at just the right time to ensure the adequate space is available for the girls to continue working and developing their skills.  Under 11s Team Manager James said “I loved to have more space for the girls to train in and play, and it’s always nice to be outside on a sunny day”.

With the end of season festival being held by Cardiff Bluebells this coming Sunday, thoughts are already turning to next season. As Under 9s manager Gwyn said “It may be the end of the season, but where one ends, another will quickly follow!  We’ve got an exciting summer ahead where we are aiming to enter a number of tournaments and arrange a series of friendlies. Along with continual player recruitment we should be in a really good position going forward for next year.  Originally we weren’t really expecting to be as developed as we have already become, so it’s all very exciting.”

The Junior section this season had 2 teams registered playing in the SWWGL set up, and will be looking at expanding further across the summer, ideally being able to get together a full range of teams from Under 8s to Under 13s.  New players are always welcome. Training is on we Wednesday evening at Morgan Jones Park, 6-7pm. For any further infoormation, please contact  James, Under 11s Manager on 07900 261217 or Gwyn, Under 9s Manager on 07932702855.
