Under 8s @ Newport Indoor football centre

U8s – Caerphilly Castle Dragons

For our second week of the winter programme, we once again travelled to the Newport Indoor Football Centre.

First up we faced Sudbrook in a very competitive and entertaining game between two good sides. Goals for Caerphilly from Catrina capped a good performance.

Secondly we played the team from Abergavenny for the first time. Another great performance from the girls with goals from Catrina with two and Kyah, with her first hat-trick for the club.

Next we faced Tredegar, another new opponent. A strong showing from our girls again, with goals from Kyah, who scored two goals and a hat-trick from Catrina.

Lastly we played our old friends from Treowen. Our girls were slow out of the blocks and a good Treowen team took advantage of that and controlled the first half. We battled back in the second half with a great performance, and goals from Maci, who got two, Catrina with one and Charlotte scored the last.

Overall, the dragons had a great mornings football. As well as the goal scorers, great goalkeeping from Kyah, Charlotte and Alesha. Tesni provided some amazing tackling and passing.

We are very proud of all their effort that they put in. They are becoming a strong team and enjoy playing together.

Well done girls

U8s – Caerphilly Castle Lightning

Another great performance by lightning.

All played exceptionally well. We saw some stunning goalkeeping from Lily and Olivia keeping the opposition on their toes. Improving every week.

We started off well with a Victory over Albion some great attacking by Maci Lily and Darcy. This was followed by a narrow defeat against Sudbrook. Great defending by Hope Ella and Olivia.

There were some hard challenges against Abertillary but the girls held their composure and although defeated they played some impressive football.

Our last game against Tredegar was a battle and our girls although pretty tired gave their all. A battle lost this time but we will come back stronger.

All the girls played an hours football against tough opponents so a massive well done to all.

We are so proud of you all.
