Under 11s at Sully

Under 11s at Sully

Caerphilly Castle Ladies and Girls under 11s travelled to Sully for today’s games.

With the scenic views over looking the  Bristol Channel, our first game was against Sully Girls.

With just 8 players available due to holidays and injuries, meaning we had no subs, we kicked off a bit late after a change of venue.

After a quiet opening few minutes. The game came to life with a goal from Amazing Holly. Soon after Marvellous Maddison scored our second.

The score remained the same for most of the second half, thanks to excellent work from our back 3 of Excellent Emily, Magnificent Megan and Superb Sienna.

Castle dominated play for majority of the match with a commanding display in midfield from debutant Great Gwen.

Unlucky not to get a third goal from our striker and Captain Fantastic Georgia, Sully managed to pull back a consultation goal against the run of play late in the second half, and a great safe from Sensational Sofija prevented further goals.

The girls couldn’t wait to phone Coach Gwyn after the game, who was with the under 9s, to tell him their news.

In our second game we played on a very sloping pitch against Thornhill.

Castle dominated throughout without getting out of first gear.

Sensational Sofija didn’t have much to do, being well protected by a defence of Superb Sienna, Magnificent Megan and Excellent Emily.

Midfield was dominated by our Captain Amazing Holly, who opened the scoring, and had another thunder bolt saved by the goalies head, ouch!

With Fantastic Georgia providing link up play in midfield, it wasn’t long before striker Marvellous Maddison scored our second.

Right before the final whistle, Great Gwen scored her first goal for the club, taking a nice touch on the edge of the box before slamming the ball into the back of the net.

A fantastic day and great play, effort and determination by all the girls who all enjoyed themselves.

A special thank you to both Thornhill and Sully for playing the game in the right way, especially to the Sully player who stopped with the ball, to check one of our players was ok.

Well done all 👍
